Foundation 56 Mission | Mentors
| About Bradie James
Foundation56 seeks to support and devote resources to changing
and saving communities and lives. Through its signature
programs, Soul Survivors, a program designed to create breast
cancer awareness, promote early detection and provide screening
opportunities; and The James Gang, youth-centered initiatives
that encourage positive youth development, Foundation56
aims to make a difference.
Vision:
We endeavor to create more and better opportunities for
healthy, safe and positive living by tackling issues that
impact women, youth, families and communities.
Foundation56, a donor advised fund of the Baton Rouge Area
Foundation, was created by Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bradie
James (#56). His commitment to this vision is explained
in the following statement:
“Losing my mother to breast cancer in February 2002
connects me to this issue and knowing that the women, men
and families will be touched by Soul Survivors gives me
the personal satisfaction knowing that I am truly making
a difference. I want to serve as a voice to encourage men
- husbands, fathers, brothers and other men to send a message
to women… a message of hope, of strength and a message
of life, a message that breast cancer doesn’t just
affect women, it affects the entire family.”
